New York City officials hold a press conference on the active shooter situation at 345 Park Avenue in New York City on July 28, 2025. Four victims, including an NYPD officer on "paid duty", were killed by the gunman who later died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. "Paid Duty" is when a company pays the NYPD for additional uniformed security.
